ASVF is hosted by Korea Economic Daily, aiming at providing a stage for Asian college students to show their ideas of start-up business, so as to encourage them to start their own business and strengthen the communication and exchanges between countries. Since the first forum in 2002, ASVF has been held for 15 years. This year, there are 9 participating nations or regions, including China, Korea, Japan and Taiwan. Each nation or region is allowed to have no more than two represented teams, and China has two teams this year, one is from Peking University and the other is Renmin University of China.

PKU represented team designed smart flowerpot "Plantie", making the best use of their professional advantages. This work consists of two parts, hardware and APP. Plant condition is monitored by sensor of temperature, humidity and illumination. Then the information is sent to users through APP, instructing them to take care of their plants, which is still a problem for many people.

PKU represented team performed very well during the mission activities. Shao Shuai (Team 3), Tu Qi (Team 2) and Zhang Lingyu and Liu Yang (Team 1) won the first, second and fourth prize respectively among 12 teams, showing the spirit and ability of a PKU student.
